Moodle

Moodle is our course management system (also called a Learning Management System or LMS) here at Bucknell.

moodlelogoMoodle is our course management system (also called a Learning Management System or LMS) here at Bucknell. You can use Moodle to provide an online “home” for your course, uploading course-related files into a place where students can easily find those documents using any Internet-capable device. Faculty members typically upload a course syllabus, links to online readings, links to video files contained on our Kaltura streaming video server, and other course materials into their Moodle course(s). You can also create course-related activities in Moodle, such as discussion board forums, quizzes, assignments, etc.

You can get to Moodle at http://moodle.bucknell.edu. On the right-hand side of the page, you will see your Current Course List module, which will list all the Moodle courses in which you are involved this semester. Also listed (under “Other courses”) are courses from previous semesters, along with any organizations, research groups, community sites, etc. in which you are participating. Please note that courses taught before Summer 2015 are hosted on our Moodle Archive Server.

Moodle is an open-source software program developed by the community of users to support teaching and learning in schools and universities. It is an acronym for “Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment.”

At Bucknell, we are currently using version 3.2 of Moodle.

Please contact Digital Pedagogy and Scholarship if you have any questions about using Moodle in your courses.
