Please join us for a lunchtime discussion on Wednesday, January 30th on the future of digital scholarship at Bucknell.
L&IT continues to actively support digital scholarship at Bucknell. Join us to discuss current and upcoming projects. The discussion will include an overview of ongoing support for the Summer Research Program and the Digital Scholarship Summer Research Fellows; new and renovated spaces in the library such as the 2nd Floor Video Studio, the GIS Underground, and the Digital Scholarship Studio; and a discussion of how digital scholarship fits into the L&IT and Bucknell strategic plan.
If you still wonder what digital scholarship is and how it could impact your teaching and scholarship, if you are new to digital methods, or if you are an active member of the growing community of digital practitioners at Bucknell, we want to hear from you. After a brief presentation (looking back and forward), L&IT staff will facilitate a discussion with attendees.
Please RSVP to lit-events@bucknell.edu, as we want to make sure we have seating and lunch for all attendees. Please indicate any dietary restrictions.
Meet the new 2nd Floor Studio in Bertrand 225a (part of the East Reading Room). Demo the new video and audio recording space and explore opportunities for students and faculty to more easily record themselves with minimum effort. Bring a flash drive, and meet the new DP&S Specialist for Video – Wes Bernstein.
Tour the new Digital Scholarship Studio in Bertrand Library (124) located behind the new 24-hour study space on the first floor.
Learn about the potential uses for our new 2nd Floor Studio and see how easily you can use this new digital media space for recording and advancing your digital pedagogy. Wes Bernstein (DP&S – Video) will be reviewing ways to incorporate testimonials, interviews, podcasts, and more.
Wish your 360° camera was as rugged and versatile as an action camera? GoPro has answered the call! Come and play with our new GoPro fusion 360 cameras and get ideas about how 360 video can compliment your pedagogy or research. We’ll be reviewing these new digital tools and how they compliment Virtual and Augmented Reality.
Want to include a video directly onto your blog? Wish your student submitted video projects would all be in single playlist for audiences to see? Join us for a review on how to maximize Mediaspace ( a Youtube-like service optimized for the Bucknell community).
